Liverpool Interns is a service to support employers who wish to offer paid opportunities to enthusiastic and talented undergraduate students at The University of Liverpool.
This free service is available to all organisations based inside or outside the UK and we are keen to source a diverse range of projects from organisations across a variety of sectors.
Why recruit a Liverpool Intern?
A Liverpool Intern can be a cost effective way of recruiting an exceptional individual to work within your organisation on a short-term basis. Students are an ideal recruitment solution when you want to address specific, temporary business needs.
The University of Liverpool attracts some of the best and brightest students from around the world - Liverpool Interns gives you access to these students.
A Liverpool Intern can help you develop your business in an area you might not have time to develop yourself and can offer your organisation fresh ideas, enthusiasm and an innovative perspective on tasks.
Students can apply their theoretical knowledge to practical problem solving in industry.
When completing work outside the UK, our students can provide knowledge and skills that may not be available in the local labour market such as language skills and a global perspective.
Types of Projects
We are looking for a wide variety of paid projects across all business areas and sectors. Projects may include marketing, finance, supply chain, accounting, HR, communications, engineering, publishing, market research or social and digital media.
Students will be available to complete these projects during the Easter and summer vacations so will be available for:
2-3 week Easter internships between Monday 19 March and Friday 06 April 2018
4-12 week summer internships between Monday 04 June and Friday 21 September 2018.
How it works
Our team will work with you to take the hassle out of recruiting a Liverpool Intern.
You provide us with project/internship details – you can submit these directly to our vacancy website CareerHub here. All opportunities should meet our suitability criteria. If you are unsure how a Liverpool Intern might be able to benefit your organisation, please contact the team and we can help you in identifying potential internship roles that address your business needs.
We will actively promote the internship(s) via our vacancy website, regular e-newsletter, direct emails and social media to a highly motivated and engaged group of students registered with Liverpool Interns.
We will offer support to students at the application stage to maximise the strength of the applications you receive.
Prior to the start of the internship the successful candidate will have assistance from our team to help the student make the most of their internship experience, and to help them fully prepare before joining your organisation.
Costs & Funding
The service we offer to employers is completely free of charge.
All opportunities should be paid in accordance with the National Minimum Wage act.
We can advise on pay scales if required but recommend payment of between £250 and £300 per week.
There may be funding available to support SMEs* offering internships (*at time of writing funding is still to be confirmed and is subject to eligibility).
